Varanasi — Stories of the Sacred City

ROOTS OF SHANTI · 4 DAYS / 3 NIGHTS

Wake to the Ganges, walk the lanes of Kashi and discover a city through its temples, food, crafts and living stories. A thoughtfully paced journey with space for devotion, curiosity and everyday encounters.

Indicative price: US$399–450 per person. Dates, accommodation, room occupancy and the final package quotation are confirmed personally before booking.

Four Days in Kashi

Day 1 · Arrive & Meet the River

Arrive in Varanasi, settle into your accommodation and meet your host. Begin with an introductory ghat and old-city walk, then experience the evening Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat. Ease into the city with local flavours and stories.

Day 2 · Sunrise, Sacred Lanes & Temple Stories

Take a sunrise boat ride on the Ganges, subject to safe river conditions and local operating permissions. Explore Kashi Vishwanath and Kaal Bhairav, with Annapurna and Vishalakshi visits woven into the route as timing and access allow. Discover the old city’s lanes through a guided local-food tasting.

Day 3 · Sarnath, Silk & Living Traditions

Explore Sarnath, associated with the Buddha’s first sermon, then discover Banarasi weaving through an artisan or workshop visit, subject to availability. Learn about silk, zari and the craft behind the famous Banarasi saree. Shopping is optional, with time to browse at your own pace.

Day 4 · Southern Kashi & Farewell

Enjoy a final morning around Assi Ghat. Depending on departure time, visit selected temples such as Sankat Mochan, Durga Kund or the New Vishwanath Temple at Banaras Hindu University. Close with time for reflection before departure. An early departure may require moving these visits to an earlier day.

The Flavours & Craft of Banaras

Discover local favourites such as kachori-sabzi, jalebi, tamatar chaat and lassi, with seasonal treats when available. Tell us about allergies, dietary needs and spice preferences so we can plan suitable stops.

See how Banarasi textiles connect craftsmanship with family traditions. The weaving experience is part of the journey; sarees, fabrics and other purchases are paid for separately.

Plan With Clarity

This journey starts and ends in Varanasi. Share your arrival and departure times, group size, preferred room arrangement and interests. We will confirm the accommodation, meal plan, local transport, transfers, admission fees and final total in writing before you book.

Flights and trains to Varanasi, personal shopping, tips, special pujas and priority darshan tickets are outside the indicative package unless explicitly included in your quotation. The included food experience is a tasting; other meals depend on the agreed meal plan.

Temple visits follow each site’s current entry and security requirements. International guests should carry a valid passport; Kashi Vishwanath’s official helpdesk provides guidance for foreign devotees. Access and ritual participation cannot be guaranteed.

The route may change for crowds, festivals, weather, river conditions and opening times. We visit a selection of important temples rather than attempting every temple in the city.
